Pete is the best! Unique place. Not too many places like this left anymore... Check it out!

I got dragged out to Pete's on a small group motorcycle ride. A HOT DOG stand is about the last place I would eat; don't like dawgs. The non-hotdog offerings are plenty. I had a beef sammich. Good prices, good politics.

Classic American hot dog/burger joint. You'll get the classic dog with everything (pickle, sport peppers, onion, relish, etc) and their fries are fresh cut. Yum! They also have cheeseburgers, and tons of other all-American choices. Pete seems to keep the place down-home but very clean. Nothing fancy, but very tasty All-American food. My family and I have been coming here since I was little and I'll be coming back for more. Thanks Pete!

Disgusting disgusting joint. Walked in and the guy is serving food while smoking behind the counter. Not washing his hands. Food looks so nasty. I walked right out didn't have an appetite anymore.

Place has good hot dogs. Definitely not a place for a progressive or communist to eat at. Pete is not afraid to express his displeasure in President Obama. I will keep giving him my business because of his political views. I feel safe taking my family there as he thanked me everytime my son and I eat there and told me that he runs a Kid-Safe business and it is a safe place to eat.

Where to start... thought it would be a fun stop, walked in and Pete was chain smoking behind the counter...serving food without washing hands. Ordered a hot dog and a corndog. Hotdog, luke warm. Corndog, still frozen in the middle. Quite disappointed. Was hoping to find a new favorite Hotdog joint. Guess I'll stick with Portillos.

I've driven past Pete's numerous times while en route to Elburn but the signage called me in this time. This place has great ambiance. As others have said, the owner is a hater but he doesn't seem to be specific to Obama. I mentioned that I was from out of town and he welcomed me to the state where 5 (or 6?) of 7 governors are in lockup. I was thinking "hot dog" but the menu is huge. All your greasy fare! I asked what his recommendation was and he said to go with the special - Pete Loaf. It's the kinda meal that will kill you. Meat loaf folded over with cheese and ham, served on french bread with tomato and mayo. Throw in a plate of fries that are comparable to Five Guys and you'll be in a coma. He has a bunch of spice, sauces and other goodies you can take to-go. I snagged a jar of fresh in-house horseradish so that I'll be reminded of Pete's for the next month. The food was good and the prices are reasonable. I was surprised there was no tip jar - Pete was taking orders but he did have staff on the grill. I'd have dropped a couple more bucks just because. I'll definitely stop back again. Pete makes this a solid four star joint.

Kinda unkempt and most definitely greasy. It's probably OK for a quick hot dog but I would probably think twice about anything else. I must admit, having all the Anti-America stuff all over the place made us uncomfortable as well.

What isn't there to love about Pete! Best Hot Dog stand around by far. Passed this place on my way to NIU for years and not is it our typical Saturday lunch hangout. there isn't anything on the menu that will disappoint you, sure it is greasy but that is why you come here.

I used to work at a Summer Camp in Morris for several years, and driving every week from McHenry, Pete's was on the way down to Morris on Route 47. I made a ritual of stopping for breakfast on the way there on Sunday's and for lunch on my way home on Saturday's. It has an older, down home atmosphere and Pete (the owner) is friendly and quite hilarious. Food is also superb. Stop in if you can!

I been going here since I can remember, I love this place, and all the stuff on the walls about the government is funny, the owner defiantly hates our government and president but all well, he had a right to "post" his mind lol , food good, good prices,

What to say about Pete's ... well, it is a convenient stop on our way home from visiting our horses in Maple Park. The prices are reasonable. The fries are not bad, and the hot dogs are typical. I tried the Sloppy Pete, basically a sloppy joe on a hot dog bun. Because it was on a dog bun rather than a hamburger bun, it seemed like a small portion. That was ok though because it was not very good at all. This rather surprised me because it was their special for the day. A not so special , special. This is a right wing, Obama hating kind of place. It is hard not to notice the bumper stickers plastered all over the fridge behind the counter. Fortunately, old lefties like me are an accepting lot , so we don't mind. Therefore, when it is convenient, we will stop in for a dog and some fries. Like I said, I am accepting, but I won't be accepting their Sloppy Pete's any time soon.

Good, greasy food with a side of anti-Obama agenda? Sign me up! God bless you folks- you are true patriots, and you have in me a life-long customer!

I don't know, when I am riding back along 64 or 47 and decide I want to grab a dog and fries, I usually think of Pete's. The dogs are pretty good (not a Portillo's dog, but not a cheap one either), the fries are pretty tasty if fresh and the prices are reasonable. The owners watch way too much Fox News and listen to way too much Glenn Beck though. The walls are covered with the most hateful, ignorant anti-Obama tripe you could imagine and span all the conspiracy theories. In and of itself, that's fine, everyone is entitled to their opinion. The old dude behind the counter loves to add to it though. Spouting off the latest debunked talking point as fact and railing about the evil liberals. It was really funny when he got going about the banks though and I pointed out that is where Romney made his money. I am glad I had finished my lunch already because that dude got cranky. So, if you need to grab a bite, this place is okay. If you don't want to listen to political crap or support a cranky old man... Avoid it.

Food is simple, taste is fair. I would say it is your typical hotdog and hamburger shop. The owners however are a bit crabby/uncaring about customers, so the service is only ok. However, the prices are very reasonable. Good place for a quick stop.

Pete's is the best place to go for a hot dog. I have lived in Chicagoland my entire life and his dogs are excellent. Well worth your time if you are cruising route 47 northbound or southbound. I would say even worth the drive out.
